Anthony Joseph "Dutch" Bartholomai Jr., 61, of South Connellsville, passed away Monday, July 23, 2012, in a tragic accident while doing what he loved, spending time outdoors. He was born May 12, 1951, in Connellsville, a son of Elizabeth Bartholomai, of South Connellsville, and the late Anthony J. "Pork" Bartholomai (1997). He was a graduate of Connellsville Area High School Class of 1969. After, he enlisted with the Army Reserves and was honorably discharged in 1975. He was formerly employed by the former Anchor Hocking Glass Plant for more than 30 years. Currently, he was employed with United States Steel- Edgar Thomson Plant. He was a member of the Slovak, Polish and Eagles Clubs, Sons of Italy, the South Connellsville Rod and Gun Club, South Connellsville Fireman's Club and the Turkeyfoot Rod and Gun Club. He was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville. Dutch was also a lifetime hunter and fisherman who enjoyed hunting trips with his friends. He also enjoyed trips to Ocean City, Md., Elk County, Pa. and attending car shows. In addition to his mother, he is survived by daughters, Jennifer Baldwin and husband, Christopher, and their son, Matthew, all of Pittsburgh, Beth Geary and husband, Steve, and their daughters, Alexis and Laila, all of Connellsville, and Amy Zimmermann and husband, John and their son, Zander, all of Pittsburgh; son, Matthew Bartholomai, of South Connellsville, fiance, Amy Hixson, of South Connellsville, and her daughter, Nicole, and her sons, Joshua and Conner, all of Scottdale; sisters, Judy Zitney, of South Connellsville, and Diane Monaco and husband, John, of Rockwood; brother, Robert "Rock" Bartholomai and wife, Pam, of South Connellsville; sister-in-law, Jackie Bartholomai, of South Connellsville; and also numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marcia L. (Tannehill) Bartholomai (2006), whom he married May 20, 1972; brother, George W. "Bill" Bartholomai (2011); brother-in-law, Tom Zitney (2003); and father-in-law, Ronald Tannehill (1998). Family and friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from noon to 8 p.m. Friday in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME INC., 418 N. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, where prayers of transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville.
