Born in Russell County, KY, she was a daughter of the late Cyrus and Polly Higginbotham Hawkins. She was preceded in death by a dughter, Ann R. Lewis. Surviving are three daughters, Belinda Witteborg, Debbie Hasting and Johnette Calliham, all of Ninety Six; a son, John Ruley, Jr. of Ninety Six; a sister, Vickie Griffin of Ninety Six; two brothers, Joe Hawkins of Greenwood and Johnny Hawkins of Ninety Six; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
