In the late 1950's Sidney switched careers and began work with the Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Phila. and was a life insurance underwriter in the greater Philadelphia area for the next 35 years.
Military: He was a radioman during WWII; where he served in both the European and Pacific fronts, and was mustered out of the Navy in 1945 as a first class radioman, but stayed in the Navy Reserve and was commissioned at Lieutenant (Junior Grade) in 1949. He returned to active duty during the Korean Was where he was stationed in Brooklyn New York in the Navy Supply Corps. Following the war he remained in the Reserves, eventually attaining the rank of Commander.
Social Interests: During his childhood, Sidney was active in the Boy Scouts and he began a life-long interest in working with animals
