Mrs. Doris Maurine Harris Watson, age 79, of North Wilkesboro died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11:00 AM, April 17, 2013 at First Baptist Church of North Wilkesboro with Dr. N. Nelson Granade, Jr. and Rev. Paul Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Mrs. Watson was born February 20, 1934 in Greenfield, TN to John and Agnes Danner Harris. Before retiring, she worked at Wilkes Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Watson was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Wilkesboro. She worked with the American Red Cross, Hospital Auxiliary, Musical Arts Club, Wilkes Playmakers, Girl Scouts and the PTA.
She is survived by: three daughters, Edith Watson Sloan and husband, Mike of North Wilkesboro, Susan Watson Roach and husband, Rick of Virginia Beach, VA, Anne Watson Christie and husband, Steve of Durham; two grandchildren, Lauren Kay Kendall, Amber Marie Kendall; one sister, Judy Chappell of Martin, TN; one brother, John Harris and wife, Edna of Martin, TN.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, 1375 Lenoir Rhyne Blvd., Hickory, NC 28602.
