Son of Joseph L. & Agnes Friedman Fangman

Joseph Lester Fangman, 82, died Sunday April 7 at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehab Center.

He was born May 26, 1930 in Dyersville, son of Joseph L. and Agnes Friedman Fangman. He married Dorothy Weber on November 13, 1951 in Waterloo.

Joe graduated from St. Mary's High School. He was in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He worked in the dry sausage dept. at Rath Meat Packing plant for thirty-seven years. Joe was also a volunteer at St. Vincent dePaul Society for fifty-two years.

He is survived by his wife of Waterloo; two sons, Darryl (Sue) Fangman of Dewar and Duane (Liz) Fangman of Plano, Texas; two daughters, Darlyne Yagla of Waterloo and Doris Lunde of Plano, Texas; nine grandchildren; a brother, Marvin (Carol) Fangman of Waverly and a sister, Mary Lou (Jim) Shonka of Independence.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, LeRoy (Betty) and Bob (LaVerne); two sisters, Kathleen(Bob) Aunspach and Lois (Jack) Baldwin and a son-in-law, John Lunde.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Edward's Catholic Church, with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. parish and St. Vincent dePaul rosary. (NOTE LOCATION CHANGE). Visitation also for an hour preceding services at the church on Thursday.
