The deceased was born in Putnam County on March 31, 1867, and married Lulu T. Hancock, who died in 1938. She was the daughter of the late John and Jane Hancock, a pioneer Putnam County family. Minton was Chief of Police in Palatka for 20 years and was deputy sheriff for four years under the late Lee Kennerly. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Willard Hancock of Jacksonville Beach and R. C., Miami; three daughters, Mrs. Mae Neck, Jacksonville Beach, Mrs. Pearl Osteen, Ft.
