Green-Wood Cemetery
Section 119, Lots 600-603.
[NOTE: Most individuals buried here are not memorialized by any currently visible or legible stone or inscription. A list of lot residents, with burial dates, appears after the inscriptions.]
Seven stones stand here in a rectangular depression that was once a burial vault. The old vault was closed before 1900 and then demolished between 1955 and 1960, perhaps due to structural problems. Presumably, the old vault entrance identified the tomb as that of the CONGER family, but there were (and are) no individual memorial stones for anyone buried here before 1879. Inscriptions on all 7 currently standing stones follow.
