Mrs. Smith died Nov. 23, 2007, in a Lindale nursing center.
She was born Nov. 19, 1914, in Smith County to John Wesley and Sarah Belle Goodman Sanders and was a lifelong resident of the Lindale area. During World War II she worked building airplanes in Fort Worth and retired from Co-Operative Rose Growers in 1983. She was a longtime member of Damascus Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Odie Christian "Doc" Smith; brothers, Hubert Sanders, James Sanders and William Sanders; and sisters, Virginia Willis and Onie Long.
Survivors include sisters, Fay Ashcraft, Lindale, Opal Harris, Fort Worth, and Janie Shelly, Mineral Wells, and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Harris, Johnny Sanders, Steve Ashcraft, Donald Sanders, J.C. Wood and Lewis Graham.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
