Ray Cumpton, 82, Lone Jack, Mo., passed away April 11, 2013, at his home. Ray was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Bates County, Mo., to Earl and Celia (Bryant) Cumpton. He is survived by his wife, Patricia of the home, a daughter, Beth Valentine, granddaughter, Kayte Barone, grandson, Brandon Cruz, son-in-law, Ramiro Cruz, and sisters, Bonnie Wilson and Ruth Campbell. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, David Allen and a daughter, Cathy Cruz. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, at Lone Jack Baptist Church, 202 S. Bynum, Lone Jack, MO, 64070. A funeral service will follow the visitation, beginning at 11 a.m. and will be officiated by Pastor Jerry Tharp. A graveside service will follow the funeral and be held at Lone Jack Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made in Ray's name to The American Cancer Society , PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or The National Autism Association, 20 Alice Agnew Drive, Attleboro Falls, MA 02763.
