She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved Opa and Oma, Max and Karoline Hiller. Thilde is survived by aunt Friedel Burhofer and husband Paul, their daughters Mathilde and Margot and their families in Germany; cousin Helga and husband Clyde Van Wagoner of Fenton, MI and their sons Rick of Texas and Randall (wife Jennifer and daughters Lauren and Emily) of New Hartford, NY; several relatives in Germany, Canada and Australia and many special friends.
Thilde was loved and will be greatly missed for her cheerful and fun personality and kind and generous nature. She loved to travel, enjoyed arts and crafts, musicals and old movies, breaking out in song at any given opportunity. She was an avid reader and special thanks go to the National Library Service for the Blind for making it possible to continue reading her favorite authors by providing her with an endless supply of books on tape during her last 2 years of blindness.
We thank the wonderful staff at Country Meadows, Abbey Park, their Medical Team, and DaVita Dialysis in Grand Blanc who all greatly contributed to Thilde's comfort and quality of life during the many years of her illnesses due to diabetes. Also appreciated is the kindness and compassion she received from so many caring for her at Genesys Regional Hospital during her many stays there and, at the end, Genesys Hospice.
Cremation has taken place and interment at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Harrisburg, PA will follow in the near future.
