Gladys K. McNeill, a retired office clerk and former postmaster, died of causes related to age
Sunday at her Clarkston home. She was 84.
She was born May 3, 1907, at Bakersville, N.C., to J.L. and Alice McNeill. She attended schools in
Bakersville and graduated from high school there. She later attended King's College in Charlotte,
N.C.
She worked as a bookkeeper for the Carolina Mineral Co. in Spruce Pine, N.C., from 1927 to 1928.
She married Charles E. McNeill Nov. 7, 1928, at Lewiston.
McNeill was employed from 1929 to 1950 as the postmaster in Mountain View, Wash. They later
returned to Clarkston, where she worked from 1952 to 1971 as an office clerk at McMonigle
Chevrolet Cadillac Co. She retired in 1971.
McNeill was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Clarkston and the Order of the Eastern
Star at Asotin.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggie Edmonson of Lewiston and Ellie Osborn of Marysville,
Wash.; two sisters, Edith Nutman of Clarkston and Gay Manchester of Greensbone, N.C.; five
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Merchant Funeral Home in Clarkston.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mountain View Funeral Chapel in Lewiston with
the Rev. Richard Melin of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarkston officiating.
Burial will be at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens in Lewiston.
