Virginia Beach - Lois Faye Bondurant died peacefully at Beth Shalom Village, Virginia Beach, on April 12, 2013.
Faye enjoyed being an active member and Deaconess at Rosemont Christian Church in Portlock, (Chesapeake). Faye loved to read, loved the Yankees, and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She worked for Chesapeake Schools and retired as a school cafeteria manager. Prior to that, she was a hairdresser and friend to many in the Portlock area.
Faye was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on November 9, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Ruth Lupton Grimes and George Percy Grimes. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, M. Nelson Bondurant, Sr., her loving daughter, Bonnie Bondurant Kingery, grandson Nathaniel Bondurant Browning, and sisters, Elizabeth (Libby) Savage and Georgia Malinovsky.
She is survived by sons, Maury N. Bondurant, Jr. and wife Brenda, and Michael Keith Bondurant and wife Jakki. Surviving grandchildren include Alexandra, Betsy, and Aaron Bondurant, Matthew Browning, Kevin Kingery, and great-granddaughters, Caroline Rowe Browning and Bonnie Grace Browning.
The family will receive visitors at Rosemont Christian Church, 3505 Bainbridge Blvd. on Sunday, April 14, 2013, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday at Rosemont Christian Church at 2 p.m., conducted by Reverend Gerard Kilyk. Burial will follow immediately in the Gibson Family Cemetery, adjacent to the church.
Memorial donations can be made in her name to the Rosemont Christian Church Children's Ministry. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
