William H. Moore Jr. of Prescott, Ariz., passed away peacefully in his home on April 6, 2013.
Born and raised in West Chester, Pa., Jan. 9, 1923, he was the son of William H. Moore Sr. and Helen Dixon.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Joyce Albrecht Moore, also originally from West Chester. He was survived by a host of nieces and nephews of the Albrecht, Hewitt and Spears families, Shawn White of Jacksonville, Fla. and Diane Wilson of Houston Texas.
Bill was a decorated veteran of WWII in the Army Air Corps, having been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and many other medals flying B25 bombers from Sicily, flying 65 missions. With his GI bill, he graduated Penn State University. After a long career he retired from Boroughs now Unisys. He was a member of the Elks and Masons in the West Chester area.
Graveside services will be at Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer, Pa., at a later date in June. Date and time will be posted at www.heritagemortuary.com when available.
