Sharon I. Swick, 56, Akron, passed away after a two year battle with cancer, at 7:15 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at her residence.

She was born July 24, 1956, in Peru, to parents Lamoine and Deema (Hall) Bowyer.

Sharon married Terry G. Swick on Nov. 8, 1975, in Wabash.

She was a homemaker. She had worked in health care and also worked at Chamberlain Products, Akron.

Sharon was a 1975 graduate of North Miami High School. She was a member of the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church. She enjoyed embroidery, cooking and also painting. Sharon was always an animal lover.

She is survived by her husband, Terry G. Swick, Akron; one daughter, Serena and husband David Smith, Rochester; four grandchildren, Kristina, Emma, David Jr. and Elizabeth; her twin sister, Shirley and husband William Galloway, Macy; and four brothers, David Lee Bowyer, Phoenix, Ariz., Danny Bowyer, Mishawaka, John Bowyer, Chili, and Jimmy and wife Brandi Bowyer, Peru.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Lamoine and Deema Bowyer; one brother, Lamoine Jr.; and one sister, Donna Elaine.

Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, with pastors Butch Troke and Carol Wilson officiating.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Akron Cemetery, Akron.
