Henry Fitzhugh, Sr., 86, died at 6:50 a.m. yesterday at his residence in the Dartmouth Apartments, 1416 Willow, after a long illness.
Formerly in the steel business in Pittsburgh, he had been retired for about 50 years and had moved here from Washington 12 years ago. A graduate of Trinity College, Toronto, he was a former member of the Pendennis Club and the Filson Club here. His wife, Betty Poe Fitzhugh, died last November.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Louise Fitzhugh Jones; two sons, Henry Fitzhugh, Jr., and John Daintry Fitzhugh, Cobourg, Canada; a brother, Carroll Fitzhugh, Pittsburgh, and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. today at his residence. Burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery.
