Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Thu, May 2, 1963 - Ida May Book Shannon, daughter of David G and Mary Ann Book, was born in Prairieville, IL on Aug 17, 1875. It was there that she grew to womanhood and received her education. About 1905 she came to Storm Lake where she was employed until the time of her marriage.
On Jan 7, 1913 she was married to David Franklin Shannon and Storm Lake became her permanent home. After her health failed she lived for a time in the home of her step grand daughter, Mrs Lois Gjevre.
After a serious fall she spent 5 weeks in Buena Vista county hospital and on Oct 22, 1960 she entered the Morgan Nursing Home where she has since been a resident. She passed away there last Saturday afternoon at the age of 87.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept 2, 1945, also by her parents, six brothers, 2 sisters, and 2 stepsons.
She is survived by 2 step children: Guy T Shannon of Storm Lake and Mrs Lillian Full of Alta.
Funeral services were held Tuesday April 30. Interment was in the Storm Lake cemetery.
