Petition of the estate of Jacob Arnwine late of Hemlock Township deceased.
August 1823
The petition of Jacob Bruner and Ester his wife late Ester Earwine one of the children and heir of Jacob Arnwine late of Hemlock township formerly Northumberland now Columbia County, deceased. Was prepared for the Court Humbly showing that the said Jacob Arnwine lately died intestate leaving a widow Catherine who resides in Mahoning township Columbia County, and eleven children to wit. John, who resides in the state of New York and who has sold all his rights in the estate of the said Jacob Arnwine deceased to Burtis Arnwine another of the sons of the said Jacob Arnwine. Which said Burtis resides in Hemlock township County of the aforesaid, Peter Arnwine who resides in the County of Lycoming, Jacob being a minor who resides in Washington, Columbia whos guardian is Jacob Everitt of Hemlock township aforesaid, Rebecca intermarried with Jacob Heinz who died after the intermarriage, said Rebecca residing in Madison township County of aforesaid, whos rights to her father's estate has been duly conveyed to Stephen Vanater, Elizabeth intermarried with Stephen Vanater who resides in Sussex County New Jersey, Elanor intermarried with Isaac Vanater who resides in Morris County New Jersey, Ester married to your Petitioner. Mary intermarried with John Chamberlin of Hemlock township, Columbia County and who conveyed their rights to Stephen Vanater, Margaret intermarried with Andrew Childs who resides in Mahoning township, Columbia County aforesaid and that said intestate died seized in his ? as of fee of and in a certain tract of land situate in Hemlock township Columbia County containing one hundred and sixty nine acres adjoining lands of Thomas Wilson, Daniel Purcell heirs of Obed Everitt Jacob Able and others. The Petitioner therefore prayed the County to award an inquest to make partition of the premises aforesaid to and amoung the children and representative of the said intestate in such maner and such proportions as by the law of this commonwealth is directed is such portions can be made without prejudice to or spoiling the whole but if such portions cannot be made thereof as af'd then to value and appraise the same and make report of their proceedings therein according to law whereupon August 4th 1823 of said petition being read prayer granted and inquisition ? by the court.
