Funeral services for John William Troxell 84 whose death occurred Tuesday August 23, 1938, at this home in Perkins Ok will be held Thursday afternoon 2 o'clock at the Baptist church in Perkins, the Rev Mr Brady officiating.
Burial will be in Olivet cemetery under direction of Strode Funeral home.
John William Troxell was born October 5, 1853, in Hancock, Md. the son of Mr and Mrs Abraham Troxell. He was married April 22, 1885, in Chilhowee, Mo. to Mary Alice Seiders who survives him.
Before moving to Payne County in 1920 the family had lived in Chilhowee and Norris, Mo. He was a member of the Baptist church and of the Masonic lodge.
Besides the widow he is survived by four sons and three daughters namely Howard Troxell, Kilgore, Tex. James Troxell, Kansas City, Kan, Albert Troxell, Caddo, Ok, Lee Troxell Perkins, Mrs Gertrude Willis, Ringling; Mrs Irene Strader, Ponca City, and Alice Troxell Enid. Three sons preceded the father in death Alva Troxell on July 11, 1893; William Eugene Troxell on November 15, 1903, and Freddie Jonas Troxell on November 25, 1927. Two brothers Clarence Troxell, Joliet Ill. and Howard Troxell, Weston, W. Va. and one sister Mrs Susan Cunningham, Detroit Mich. also survive as do twenty-three grandchildren and five great grandchildren
