Joseph and his brother, Anthony Briscoe, owned Goldie's Delicatessen, 906 North Union Street, Wilmington, for 40 years. They retired in 1984. He resided at 2206 Highland Place, Wilmington, at the time of his death.
Joseph died at Veterans Administration Hospital, on Wednesday, November 9, 1988, in Elsmere DE, at the age of 64.
Anthony was preceded in death by his father, Joseph, and his two stepfathers, Carmine and Philip. He is survived by his wife, Lois (née Moon) Briscoe; his son, Joseph Briscoe Jr; and his daughter, Barbara Gentile.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Saint Anthony Roman Catholic Church, 9th and DuPont Streets, on Saturday, November, 12, 1988. Interment followed at Cathedral Cemetery, in Wilmington DE.
