BILLIE BOB CHAPMAN, beloved husband of Sharon Anne McCarthy Chapman, father of Billie Brien and Patrick McCarthy (Kara Barber), grand father of Brielle and Adair.

Son of Dr. Bill Chapman (deceased) and Evelyn (Hopkins) Chapman Omaits (Smithville, OH). Brother to Catherine (Jeff Timko), Michael, Joseph (Lynn) and Allanna Beth (Hank Mallory).

AVCM Chapman was a Master Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy and served with distinction for 27 years. He was Sailor of the Year for the Pacific Fleet in 1983. He served on the USS Midway when his department won the Battle E Designation (excellence in aviation). He was Command Master Chief for VA-128 Squadron at NAS Whidbey Island, WA and NAS Adak, AK.

He was an avid sport fisherman, enjoyed woodworking, photography and delighted in time spent with his family and many friends from around the world. Bill was very involved in the 40 Days for Life in Texas.

He was a beloved brother-in-law and uncle to an extended family including 23 nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at McGorray-Hanna Funeral Home,(14133 Detroit Ave.) Lakewood, OH Friday 5-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday April 13 at 10 am, St. Malachi Catholic Church, 2459 Washington Ave. (W.25th and Detroit Ave), Cleveland Ohio. Interment services Monday, April 15, 12:30 pm at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pro Life Office of Catholic Charities, 7911 Detroit Ave., Cleveland, OH 44102.
