Marjorie Evelyn Burks died at home in Vestavia Hills on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. She was 96. She was the second of two daughters born to the late James Edgar Richardson and Alva Lee Francis. She lived all her life in the Birmingham area and was a longtime member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hoover. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Seldon Burks, who passed away in 1999. She is survived by several nieces and nephews who greatly mourn her passing. Visitation will be Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood from 5 pm to 7 pm with rosary service to follow. Graveside services will be Friday at 1 pm at Forest Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.
