Christine Allen age 90 of Polk, OH., passed away Tuesday, Arpil 9, 2013 at Hospice House of North Central Ohio. On April 21, 1922 in Lee County, KY., Mrs. Allen was born to William and Lula (nee' Brandenburg) Starnes. She had been a resident and homemaker in Ashland Co. most of her life with her church membership at Polk Church of Christ. Mrs. Allen served as a Den Mother with the Cub Scouts, loved to garden and do canning, bowling, and served as the Polk town babysitter.
On March 25, 1943 Christine married Robert Allen who preceded her in death February 28, 1995. She is survived by two daughters: Barbara Bee of Polk, OH. and Doreen Park of Ashland, OH.; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Allen was also preceded in death by her parents, three sons: Gareth Allen in 2009, Charles Allen in 1988, and Duane Allen in 1992; one daughter, Lydia King in 2001; 7 brothers; and 1 sister.
Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Heyl Funeral Home, 227 Broad St., Ashland, OH., with Pastor Ed Graves officiating. Interment will be at Polk Cemetery.
