John C. Ammerman a prominent citizen of Courtland died on last Monday, March 18, at the age of 65 years. He was born in New Jersey Dec. 4, 1846. Mr. Ammerman came to Republic county thirty four years ago and was married to Mrs. Emily Sheppard, who survives him. He was a member of the Christian church, also a member of the Odd Fellows and Workmen lodges. The funeral was held last Wednesday at the Christian church in Courtland, conducted by Rev. Jewett. Burial was made in Mount Pleasant cemetery.
