August 11, 1942 - Storm Lake Register - Brief funeral services for Ira L. Bouslough, 83, resident of Buena Vista county and Storm Lake for about 40 years were held Saturday afternoon at the Hughes funeral home.

Mr. Bouslough passed away Wednesday night about 6:18 in a Chicago hospital. He had been ill since last March and was taken to a Chicago hospital May 22 by his daughter, Mrs. Iva (John) Grant of that city for treatment. Death resulted from a heart attack.

Dr Edward L. Gibson, pastor of Lakeside Presbyterian church, officiated at the Masonic service. Dr. Gibson read the words of the hymn, "The Old Rugged Cross," during the impressive rites. Bearers were Merritt Hoffman, Harry Prichard, J.A. Chindlund, Harry Lahr, Emil Offerle, and W.L. Danforth. Burial was in the Storm Lake cemetery. The Masons conducted their ritualistic grave service.

Ira L. Bouslough was born April 14, 1859 at Hollidaysburg, Pa. He came to Buena Vista county in 1901, where he since resided. For a number of years he had made his home on Geneseo street.

Mr. Bouslough is survived by two daughters and a son. They are Mrs. Harry Haze of Amarillo, Texas, Mrs. John Grant of Chicago and Jay Bouslough of Evanston, Illinois. All were here for the service.

August 13, 1942 - Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - Ira L. Bouslough, Storm Lake and has left the bulk of his large estate to his two daughters, Iva Bouslough Grant of Chicago and Ina Eleanor Bouilough-Haze of Beverly Hills, Calif., according to will that has been filed with County Clerk Vera L. Scott. A son, I.L.J. Bouslough of Evanston, Illinois, was left S25. Mrs. Grant was given an outright bequest of $6,500 "as compensation for certain care and attention that she rendered to my wife during her last illness."

The will, made July 23, 1941, stipulated that the remainder of the estate be divided equally between Mrs. Grant and Mrs. Haze. However, a codicil written Sept. 29, 1941, gives Mrs. Grant the additional sum of $450 "for money advanced for a crypt in Chicago for a burial place for my wife."

This codicil also revokes a bequest of $500 which had been made to Mrs. Lucille Murphy in the will. The will carries a provision that in case either daughter died before the maker of the will, the husband of the deceased daughter be paid $2000 and the remainder given to the surviving daughter.

The codicil states that in event both daughters died the husbands should receive the full share given his wife in the will.
