Bobbie Fox was the son of Mr and Mrs Paul Fox. According to the newspaper, had been ill for several months. Prior to the Fourth of July he expressed the wish to get well enough to shoot fire crackers on the holiday. It was thought at first that he had some kind of "sleeping sickness" as he slept much of the time. He was taken to the hospital in St Louis where he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He was in the hospital for three weeks, then came home for three months before he passed away.

"Those who knew Bobbie when he was well knew him as a happy loving child. Those who watched him through his sad illness saw him accept his grief and suffering with the courage and gentle patience, the sweet dignity of a saint or hero. His presence was a thing of joy, his passing was a thing of beauty. Sweet is the coming of the quiet night
After a day of labor Nature's eyes
Are closed in sleep bit nature will arise
To move again in comfort and delight
Sweet is the night and when the night is gone
Sweet is the coming of the quiet dawn.
Sweet then is death which brings to this dear one
A restful sleep from suffering and pain.
Be very sure that he will rise again
A happy child in frolic to the sun.
Sweet is the night and when the night is gone
Sweet is the coming of the quiet dawn. ps12

Surviving are his grandparents, Mr and Mrs G.W. Fox and Mr and Mrs J.W. McKinney, and one great grandmother, Mrs Elizabeth Gatch. (also seen as "Mrs N.E. Gatch")
