Long Illness Fatal To Wiggins Woman

HINTON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha L. Cox, 41, wife of J. O. Cox, of Wiggins, will be held tomorrow afternoon at one o'clock at the Freedom Baptist Church, Powley's Street, here with the Reverend Richard Lilly officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She died at her home Thursday following an illness of about eight years, during the last three of which she had been an invalid. She had been in a critical condition for several months.

Born at Coal City, Raleigh County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Parker, she had resided in the Wiggins community for 21 years, and was well known. She was a member of the Powley's Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Earl Cox, at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Parker, of Alderson; six brothers: Clifford and Hershel Parker, of the U. S. Army; Millard,Theodore, Arthur and Emil Parker, of Alderson; three sisters: Mrs. Kyle Morgan, of Hinton; Mrs. E. W. Drumheller, of Charleston and Mrs. E. C. Knapp, of Rainelle.
