Nelda Faye Stubbs

Nelda F. Stubbs was born March 16, 1941 in Grapeland,Texas to Artice and Loreda Allen. She went home to be with the Lord December 19, 2003, while at her residence in Huntsville, Texas.
Nelda's friendly, outgoing and caring personality will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Nelda cherished her family, especially her six grandchildren,to whom she was known as MeMe. She was devoted to her Lord and served him faithfully. Nelda was a member of Elkins Lake Baptist Church.
She also loved golf and traveling. Nelda was previously employed by Stephen F. Austin State University and Huntsville Independent School District.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Gerald. She is also survived by a son, Don Stubbs and wife, Nicki, of Humble; daughters, Jana Faulkner and husband, Garrel, of Nacogdoches and Shelly Copeland and husband, Donald, of Cleveland, Tenn. Nelda's six grandchildren are: Lindsey Copeland, Braeden and Holden Stubbs and Madison, Makenzie and Macie Faulkner. Nelda has one brother, Artice (Buddy) Allen and wife, Jo Ann, of Huntsville; and sisters, Betty Smith and husband, Max, of Grapeland and Linda Cliburn and husband, Jim, of Cal Allen.
Also surviving is Nelda's stepmother, Faye Allen and stepsister, Patsy Gilson and husband, Danny, of Crockett;
sister-in-law, Patsy Ward and husband, W.H. and brother-in-law, Bobby Stubbs and wife, Sally, of Palestine.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 22 at Elkins Lake Baptist Church in Huntsville with Dr. Ken Hugghins and the Reverand Sandy Baird officiating. Interment will be at 4 p.m. at Denson Cemetery in Grapeland.
The family will receive friends at from 5 until 8 p.m. at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are: Ron Smith, Wayne Smith, Keith Smith, Chad
Cliburn, Darrel Kotzur and Jerry McKenzie. Honorary pallbearers are: Wayne Balke, Glen Beard, John Tyler and Alton Bailey.
Memorial donations may be made to Elkins Lake Baptist Church Building Fund.
