AMITY WORKER KILLED BY FALL

William Warner Breaks Neck

William Warner, 63, a resident of Amity for the past 48 years, was killed instantly late Saturday afternoon at the Dehaven Tractor and Implement Company where he was employed as a carpenter on construction of a new building, when he fell from a scaffold on which he was working.

Warner apparently reached for a piece of lumber, lost his balance and plunged headlong 14 feet to the ground, hitting full on the side of his face, resulting in a broken neck and instant death.

He was a native of Morgan County, Ohio, and was married to Sara Ella Booth in 1898. Surviving are his wife, three sons, Lynn, Amity; Austin, Carlton, and Rex, Brief, Wn. Also living are two brothers, Tom, Dundee, and Dewitt, Amity. A sister, Mrs. Loia Swart, resides in Newberg.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Chapel of Flowers under the direction of Macy and Son, with burial at the Amity cemetery. Rev. S.J. Osborne, McMinnville, read the services.
