Marcenia Edmondson was born in June of 1875 in Gilmer County Georgia and died 26 January 1931 in Canton, Cherokee County Georgia. She was the daughter of Hugh Edmondson and Sophia Ann Plemmons.
After W. V. Garrett died in 1924 Marcenia at some point remarried to James E. Newbill, an Atlanta grocier before she died in 1931 due to injuries from an auto accident in which her car overturned near Canton, Georgia. Marcenia is said to have been an accomplished piano player.
