MRS. SOUCIE PASSES AWAY.

Died At Her Home Last Sunday At The Age of 80 Years.
Mrs. Pascal Soucie passed away at her home on Beaver street, on Sunday afternoon April 4th., after an illness of several months caused by heart trouble.

Sophie Boudreau was born in St. John, Canada, on Dec.11th, 1839, being at the time of her death 80 years three months and twenty-three days old. At the age of twelve she came with her parents to Kankakee, County, settling on a farm near Kankakee. A couple of years later they moved to a farm near St. Anne, where she lived until her marriage to Pascal Soucie on Oct 11th, 1861. Mr. and Mrs. Soucie also took up their residence on a farm near St. Anne, where they lived until they took up their residence in St. Anne.

Ten children were born to this union, two having died in infancy, those who survive are as follows, Mrs. George St. Peter, Grand Junction, Iowa, Mrs. Mose Manny, Boone, Iowa, Mrs Eddie Brouillette, Mrs. John Belanger and Miss Emma Soucie, St. Anne, Joe Soucie, Levi Soucie, and Mose Soucie of St. Anne. She also leaves one sister Mrs. John Mayhew of Goodwine, IL, and three brothers Rev. P. Boudreau of Quebec, Canada, Rev. M. F. Boudreau, of Westport, Ontario; and Peter Boudreau of this place. She also leaves thirty grand children and seventeen great grandchildren.

Since her husband's death on April 1st., 1910, she and her daughter Emma have lived alone, and she has been tenderly cared for through her declining years. She will not only be missed by her family but all who knew her for her kind gentle disposition and many deeds of kindness.

She united with the Presbyterian Church many years ago and has ever remained a conscientious Christian woman. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church on Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. M. W. Merrell after which internment was made by the side of her husband in the St. Anne cemetery.
