Pauline was born in Hartford, Vermont on May 13, 1925, the seventh of ten children born to Lewis and Margaret (Harrington) Jackson.

Always a lovely lady, she met and married Alton George Goodspeed on the 24th of February 1944 in Hanover, New Hampshire. This marriage soon ended in divorce.

Happily, Pauline met Wilfred Adolf Baker and the couple married. This marriage would end only by the death of her beloved husband in 1997. Together the couple had two children: a son, W. Pierre and a daughter, Annette.

The family moved to Woodsville, Grafton County, New Hampshire in 1952 where she became a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church and a member of the St. Joseph's Women's Club.

Pauline, or "Polly" as she was known to her friends and kin, had been employed, prior to her retirement, in several Woodsville area shoe shops.

She loved creating things with her hands! Over the years, her crafts, crocheted and knitted items, were an integral part of the St. Joseph's Christmas Fair.

Her husband predeceased her on September 12, 1997.

Pauline died at the age of 82. Her son, the Rev. W. Pierre Baker, officiated at her funeral.
