She taught piano lessons in her home and was a member of Fortville First United Methodist Church where she served as choir director and director of music for more than 45 years. She started a hand bell choir at the church and was active in the church's United Methodist Women's group. She received awards for her community service at Fletcher Place Community Center, Central Avenue, Brightwood, Goodwill Industries (Volunteer of the Year), Metro Missions for Church Extension and Urban Missions, and Delta Zeta sorority (Order of the Golden Rose). She was a 1939 graduate of Anderson High School and a 1943 graduate of DePauw University.She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack M. Arnold, whom she married in 1943, and sister Beulah Mitchell.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Fortville United Methodist Church.Burial will follow at Park View Cemetery in Alexandria.Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at Seals Funeral Home in Fortville.
