Ruby Coley Ashcraft,99, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, October 17, 2013 at her daughter's home in Searcy, Ark. She was born August 29, 1914, in Old Union community to William Alexander James and Alta Pearl Crum James. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a homemaker. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Shannon.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2013, in the Old Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 p.m. to service time only. Holland Funeral Directors, Tupelo Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter; Joni Mackey (James)of Searcy, Ark.; her son James Coley of Tupelo; 18 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both her parents; first husband, O.J. Coley; second husband, William "Bill" Ashcraft; a daughter; two sisters, Adale Bradley and Peggy Lewis; two brothers, William J. James and Leroy F. James.
