HILL, HENRIETTA BERRY, 87, died peacefully Friday, April 5, 2013 at Barren County Health Care Center in Glasgow, KY, where she had lived since July 2012. Henrietta was born December 27, 1925 in Glasgow, the daughter of Mary Elizabeth and William Berry. She married William Thomas Hill of Edmonton, KY (who passed away May of 1992) in 1946. Her brother, William J. Berry Jr. preceded her in death.
Henrietta and William were the parents of three children. Henrietta was a hairdresser for 63 years, retiring at age 80. Her "customers" became her extended family over the years, and they brought joy and meaning to her life.
In late 2011, after a health crisis, Henrietta moved from Kentucky to Idaho to live near her daughter. As her health worsened, her only request was to move back to her friends, family and her beloved Kentucky. She lived her final days in the town where she was born surrounded by loving family and caregivers.
Henrietta is survived by her three children, Sheran Hill Montgomery (Jim) of Boise, ID, Steve Hill (Lynn) of Louisville and Chuck Hill (Jenny) of Lexington; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; her brother, Harry C. Berry (Laura Jo); her sister, Tommie Gray (Billy); along with nieces and nephews who saw her as a very special part of their lives.
A service will be held noon Wednesday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
