The parents of Jerry are Herman(us) Aneweer (1857 Stapelmoor, Ostfriesland, Germany - 1926 Bristol, Worth County, Iowa) and Helena Harms Koenen (1867 Ockenhausen, Ostfriesland, Germany - 1913, Dumont, Butler County, Iowa).

Jerry Aneweer, son of Herman Aneweer and Lena Kormen, married on 20 March 1920 in Bristow, Butler County, Iowa at the age of 28 years to the nine years younger Eize Koopman, daughter of Fred Koopman and Anna Hayes, in Iowa born too.

On 15 November 1920 their first child, Irene Lena, was born in Pittsford, Butler County, Iowa.
