Mary E. Douglas
HINDSBORO — Mary Elizabeth Douglas, age 84 of Hindsboro, passed away at 8:00 a.m., Friday, April 9, 2010 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Matoon.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 14th at Standard Funeral Home in Oakland. Burial will be in Van Voorhis Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Mary was born November 2, 1925 in Hindsboro, Illinois, the daughter of Benjamin E. and Ethel (Barlow) Bacon. She married Max Wayne Douglas in Hindsboro, Illinois. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Brent Douglas and wife Lila of Bloomington, Illinois and three grandchildren, Angela, Rachel and Garrett Rota of Fort Collins, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter, Debra J. Douglas-Rota.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, bird watching and flower gardening. She was a member of the Hindsboro Christian Church.
