Miss Opal Bass, 48, of Meigs, died at her residence January 3rd suddenly.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. at Meigs Baptist Church with Rev. R. E. Courtney and Rev. Allen Booker officiating. Interment was in the Meigs Cemetery.
A native of Grady County, she was born June 17, 1919. She was employed by Coats & Clark, Thomasville Mill.
She was the daughter of J. O. and Olga Fulford Bass, who survive. She is survived by one daughter Miss Dianne Elkins of Meigs.
Her five brothers are Huel Bass of Jacksonville, Douglas and Howard Bass both of Tampa, Freddie Bass of Gainesville, Fla., and George Bass of Thomasville and one sister Mrs. Ora Hutchinson of Thomaville.
Pallbearers were Horace Alligood, Alvin Gassett, Earl Dollar, Cecil Nelms, Pat Taylor, Johnnie Hartsfield. Braswell Funeral Home in charge.
