According to a letter addressed to me dated 24 October 1983 from his brother, Edward Sheldon Dunlap,
"...Roland, whom we called Rod, was divorced from his first wife. They had two childen, Roland and Anita. He remarried about four years before he passed away. They lived just north of Pasadena. He was cremated and his ashes were scattered over the sea. This is what he wanted"
