Esther Brown Farrar Hall 93 died Wednesday May 16 1990 at The Cedars Nursing Home in Charlottesville after a long illness. A native of Walnut, West Virginia, she had resided previously in Grantsville WV, York PA and Columbus OH and Huntington WV. In Huntington she was a very active member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church for 39 years. She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Huntington Women's club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years James E. Hall and two sons Lt. James E Hall Jr – killed in World War II and Lowell Glenn Hall. Survivors include a daughter Florence Hall Leslie of Palmyra, a granddaughter Barbara Leslie Putney, two great-granddaughters in Chapel Hill NC and two sisters Ruth Brown of Bridgeport, WV and Grace Stewart of Beckley, WV. Interment will be in Grantsville, WV. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the American Heart Association or the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church Memorial Fund Huntington.
