OBITUARY

Perry Strader, son of Lewis and Abaline Strader, was born near Georgetown March 7, 1844 and died at his home January 26, 1918, at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 19 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Rebecca Dowers August 4th, 1872. Previous to his marriage he enlisted in the army of the rebellion, in Co E, 150th Regiment Illinois Volunteers, on February 4th, 1865, and returned home January 16th, 1866. Thirty years ago he united with the United Brethren Church and was still a member at his death. He is survived by a wife and two brothers - David, of Cedar Rapids Iowa and Jonah Stansberry Strader, of Los Angeles California. Funeral services were conducted by W. L. Campbell at Pleasant Mound church and burial was in Pleasant Mound cemetery.


OBITUARY - PERRY STRADER.

Perry Strader, 75 years of age and a life long resident of this community and one of its most highly respected men, died Saturday afternoon, January 26, 1918 at his home on the farm, about three and a half miles southwest of this city. Mr Strader had been in failing health for the past year, but had been seriously ill only a few days prior to his death. He was one of the most substantial farmers of Georgetown township and was regarded as a straightforward, honest man. Deceased was the son of Lewis and Abbie Strader and was born on a farm in the Sharon neighborhood, south of here. He is survived by his wife, formerly Rebecca Jane Dowers, and two brothers, David Strader, of Cedar Rapids Iowa and Samuel Strader living in California. Funeral services were held Tuesday forenoon at the Pleasant Mound church. Interment was made in the church yard burial ground."
