Marjorie A. Pearce Rowoth, 91, of Charles Street, Auburn, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Finger Lakes Center for Living. Marge was born in Owasco on November 3, 1921, the daughter of the late Howard and Ruth Ackerman Bodine. She graduated from Auburn Business School. Marge enlisted in the U.S. Marines during WWII, stationed in California. She was very dedicated to the Marines and her country. She was proud of serving her country during wartime and throughout her life. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars, past commandant of the Cayuga Memorial Detachment in Auburn, a member of the First Presbyterian Church and former member of the Association of Widowed People. Marge retired from Stott & Davis, where she was employed as an executive assistant. Marge is survived by her children, Bert (Elaine) Pearce, Robert (Linda) Pearce and Albert (Karen) Pearce; grandchildren, Melissa, Jacqueline, Timothy, Kristyna, Sean, Rob, Kevin and Michael; her brother, Harry Bodine; stepchildren, Jean (Jerry) Gaes, Jeff (Lynn) Rowoth and Alan Rowoth; stepgrandchildren, Mother of the Sacred Heart (Ruth), Rachael Gaes, Chris and Dan Rowoth and nine great-grandchildren. Marge was predeceased by her first husband, Herbert Pearce in 1981 and her second husband, Olin Rowoth in 2001; her siblings, Phillip, Marion, David and George Bodine, Ida Dankin and Doris Snover. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South St., Auburn. Burial will be at Soule Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marjorie Pearce Rowoth may be made to Meals on Wheels, 10 Hulbert St., Auburn.
