PIONEER HOWELL CLARK.
"He Passed Away Yesterday at the Age of Eighty-Six. After a long illness Howell Clark died at his home in this city yesterday. His demise had been looked for hourly for some weeks past.
Mr. Clark had lived at Tenth and X streets for about forty years, though i his residence in the city commenced as early as 185)!. He was a native of Genesee County, New York, and 86 years of age. He was among the argonauts who came to California in th& j memorable year of '49. and was a member of the local Pioneer Society. Deceased was a man of means, and ! lived a quiet, domestic life, seldom I making himself conspicuous in commumunity affairs, but always enjoying the friendship and respect of his neighbors. His wife survives him, but there The funeral will not take place until 2 o'clock next Sunday."
