We lost a shining light on Monday September 11, 2023 when Margaret Johnson of Rowlett passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family a the age of 88.
A wife, mother, and loving "Aunt Margaret" to many, Margaret left a legacy of caring and generosity hard to overstate.
Margaret was born on March 23, 1935 in Rowlett, Texas to Mary (Schrade) and Dave Bennett. She married H.P. Johnson in Rowlett on June 9, 1956.
Margaret attended Garland High School but due to a re-alignment graduated from Rockwall High School. She always felt closer to Garland High and participated in several reunions with lifelong friends.
She worked in accounting all of her life. Spending many of her years at Baker's Furniture in Garland and then at Weirs Furniture in Dallas until retiring at 71 years old.
The family is very thankful to Clauda for providing home care and Vitas Hospice for providing loving care and support in her last days.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband H.P. Johnson and brothers Burl, Tom and Milton Bennett. Survived by bother Paul Bennett and daughter Lisa Johnson.
She was loved by all of her family and will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Thursday September 14th at Williams Funeral Home (1600 S. Garland Road) Garland, Texas. Funeral Service will be on Friday September 15th at 11 am at First United Methodist Church (4405 Main Street) Rowlett, Texas in the Coyle Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Rowlett for kid's camp scholarships.
