Jesse Cardell Burnside, 54, Ogden, died July 29, 1987 to Ogden of a brain tumor.
Born February 27, 1933 in Fairview, Utah. Married Shannon Roseniof on October 7, 1955 in the Monti LDS Temple, they were later divorced. Married Dianne Chipmonn in 1975, they were later divorced. Attended schools to Fairview and graduated from North Sanpete High School. Also extended College of Southern Utah, Utah State University and held two BS degrees from BYU. Veteran of the US Army, served overseas as a Paratrooper in the 119th Special Forces, Green Beret, during the Korean War. He was a member of the Utah National Guard and was a Sgt Mojor at Camp Williams. He is also a veteran of the Navy Reserves. He was o chief for Union Pacific Railroad in the Grand Canyon and Sun Volley, Idaho. Spent four summers as a smoke jumper fighting forest fires in Idaho. Worked as a geologist for Utah State Rood commission, worked at US Steel Geneva Works for seven years, was a partner in All-American Realty in Pleasant Grove, then formed his own company, Burnside Real Estate, in Ogden in 1974. Served in the bishopric and as a Cub Scout leader. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, parachute Jumping. He was also a published writer, Member of the Elks Lodge in Provo and Ogden.
Survivors include: his parents John and Thelma Burnside, Fairview; three sons, Mark Wallis and Christopher Burnside, Ogden; two daughters, Camille Crawford and Heather Burnside, Orem; four grandchildren; three brothers, William G Burnside, West Jordan; John G Burnside, Helena, Montano; George H Burnside, Littleton, Colorado; three sisters Mrs James C (Oneita) Sumsion, Springville; Mrs David (Lorraine) Larsen, Fairview; Mrs John (Barbara) Nercesion, Ogden. Preceded In death by a daughter, Lisa.
Funeral services will be Saturday 11 A.M. at the Ogden 52nd LDS Ward, 1029 26th Street. Friends may call Friday 6-8 P.M. at Lindquist & Sons Colonial Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd and one hour prior to the services at the church. Graveside service 3 P.M. at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, with Military Honors.
