ST. JOHNSBURY CENTER.
Death of Mn. riper.
The death of Mrs. Sarah Piper
occurred Friday morning at the home of
Mrs. Frank Brewer. Mrs. Piper was
born in this place November 4, 1846, and
was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John
Learned. On August 24, 1879, she was
married to Samuel Piper, and their home
has been in this place since that time
with the exception of a few years spent
in Haverhill, Mass. Mrs. Piper will be
greatly missed in Wide Awake Grange of
which she was a charter member, but in
her home most of all, which she has
made pleasant, always giving a hearty
welcome to her many friends. She was
a good and kind neighbor and friend,
and a helper to all in need. The funeral
services were held at the home of Mrs.
John Learned, Saturday afternoon, Rev.
Mr McLaughin of Lyndonville officiating.
There were many beautiful flowers,
including some from Mr. Piper's shop
mates, silent tokens of the esteem in
which she was held. Her husband and
other relatives have the deep sympathy
of the community.
