Curtis Eugene Taylor, 84 of Leavenworth passed away Thursday, November 15th, 2012.

He was born July 4th, 1928 in Bonner Springs, Kansas, the son of the late Walter and Lucille Holmes, who both preceded him in death. To this union 4 children were born, three older brothers, Lonnie Holmes, Walter Holmes, and Gilbert Andrews, all who preceded him in death, his youngest and only surviving brother Ernest Lee Andrews of Leavenworth, Kansas and his one and only sister Delores Barnett (Odis) of Overland Park, Kansas.
He married Alza Mae Bradley in 1948, and from the union 3 loving children were born, Shirley and Yvonne Taylor both of San Diego, California, and a son Kenneth E. Taylor who preceded him in death.
In 1960 he met Doris Eleanore Jackson in San Diego, California and inherited the everlasting love of her four beautiful children Michael D. Jackson, deceased. Glen Holmes (Ruffian), Almetrice Smith (Clarence) and Darlene Payne "Dollbaby" (James), they were later married and from this blessed union came Angela Luster "Party" (Eddie), Eugenia Taylor-Munlin "Beannie" (Loys), Tonya Taylor (Calvin).
Curtis was a hard and dedicated worker, he serves as an honorable soldier in the United States Navy, and as an Industrial Engineer for the City of San Diego, upon his arrival back to Leavenworth he worked at the Bay State Mill Company, he continued to work hard and diligently for Pin Oak Acres and eventually retired after 20 plus years.
Curtis loved socializing with his family and friends, he loved fishing, barbequing and collecting stuff, he was and will be remembered as a fun loving, kind and kindred spirit who was loved by many, all who met him can express their special experiences they had with him especially his grand and great grandchildren. He was compassionate, generous, always showing affection and always ready to help who ever needed it.
His life continues to live through his 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.
He will be truly missed by his youngest and only surviving brother Ernest L. Andrews.
