JOHN K. JACKSON, 79, of Springfield, died Friday, April 5, 2013 in Springfield Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born in Thomas, Kentucky on June 4, 1933, the son of the late William L. and June (Clark) Jackson.

John owned and operated Northside Appliance for many years. In his youth, he proudly worked at North American Aviation, where he helped build F-86 Sabres and F-100 Super Sabres. He was a member of Forest Valley Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nora J. (Adams) Jackson; a granddaughter, Jessica (Matthew) Saner of Zionsville, Indiana; great granddaughter, Zoey Saner; sister, Audrey Lawson of Bloomdale, Ohio; brother, Curtis (Faye) Jackson of Sycamore, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Jackson of Springfield; sister-in-law, Mary Jackson of South Webster, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, John Michael Jackson in 1982 and two brothers, Henry and Clell Jackson.

John's funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Del Wallace officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
