James Greenlee was the son of Elijah and Nancy Coble Greenlee. He married Hollie Brook, daughter of Benjamin and Mary Jane Jackson Brook on November 24th,1898. They became the parents of seven children. In the early 1920s James and his family migrated west to Oklahoma to work in the oil fields and lead mines along with his brothers, Haden and Albert.While there he died of an apparent heart attack. He was brought back to Missouri and buried beside sons Obie and Lester in the Friendship Cemetery. His wife and children also came back to Wright County for a time before migrating to California in the 1930s.Written and researched by Traci Crewse Bohannon.
