Tryon, NC - Gaden Otis Corpening died Saturday morning, Feb. 9, 1974 following a sudden illness. Husband of Kate Ingle Corpening and native of Mills River, Henderson County, NC, Son of the late Elmer Otis and Lela Allison Corpening and a resident of Tryon, NC for 26 years. He was a farm manager for Eskdale Farms in Cotton Patch and president of Tryon Country Club. Director of Tryon Riding and Hunt Club and director of Northwestern National Bank. Former Deacon and trustee of Congregational Church of Christ. District supervisor of Water and Soil Conservation leader in the 4-H Club. Survivors included: one son; one daughter; three sisters; two brothers; four grandsons. He was 63 years of age at demise and interment was in the Polk Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
