Lola Morgan, 90, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at St. James Healthcare in Butte.


She was born Feb. 24, 1923, in Butte, to William and Gladys Bowden. She received her education in Butte and graduated from Butte Business College. During the course of her career, she worked at Miner's Bank, Casebeer Eye Clinic and Mountain States Energy (MSE).


Lola married Ken Venner, whom was the father of her children. After the children had grown, she married Bernie Morgan.


Lola cherished spending time with her kids and their families. She was an active member of St. Ann's Parish. She was also involved in Eastern Star, her Ladies Club and putting puzzles together with her many good friends at Columbus Plaza. She was a very compassionate and caring person, and could always find the right things to say, putting others before herself.


She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William and Gladys Bowden, and her brothers, Harrison and William Bowden Jr.


Lola is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Joanie and Pete Cassidy, and Jean and Dee Sullivan of Butte; grandchildren, Steve (Jacqueline) Johnson, Mark (Sheila) Johnson, Jennifer (Colbey) Bradley, Lisa (Ben Homan) Sullivan and Amy (Conor Lowney) Sullivan; her great-grandchildren, Abigail, Mickey, Jori, Jaron, Taylor and Lola; and numerous nieces and a nephew.


In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Duggan Dolan Chapel. Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. from the mortuary chapel.


Interment of ashes will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Butte, MT.


Memorials are suggested to the Shriners Hospital or a charity of donor's choice.
